The small pins are a few of the halls built |
The truth has been present here in Zimbabwe for over 80 years, In 1948 Brother Knorr visited and decided it was time to establish the first Bethel in Harare there has altogether been 5 Bethel Homes including this one which was built in 1998. There are now over 40,000 witnesses in Zim with a population of 12, 000,000.
This Bethels main job is translation of English into Shoana which is one of the local languages the second main language is Ndebele which is translated at a smaller office outside of Bethel in Bulawayo and we link with this branch for morning worship.
This is the brother who'd built 35 halls |
We met one brother today with his wife that is part of one of these teams they were visiting Bethel for the first time, he had helped to build 35 kingdom halls! Some previous figures, there were around 8,800 halls needed. In Africa its estimated 5 congregations will be built a hall per day. 270 Halls were built in 3 years. Much work still to do!
Lester having room cleaning lesson!! | wahoo! |
So down to where we will be helping. The job has already started of renovating the residence blocks of which there are 3. They've done one and are starting block 2 and hope to be done by the time we leave! SO Lester will be taking over from an Italian brother who is painting. I will be doing allsorts cutting in, corking etc. The aim is to finish two singles and a double ever two weeks as well as rooms such as the small laundrys, bin rooms, kitchens, bathrooms and hallways as we go. We hope to have this all done by the time we leave!

Seriously though, nice factoids! It's good to see all the progress over there that you are privileged to help support at the moment!
I love that '1 day to Jehovah' poster too. I've seen that before and oould never quite remember how it went but its brilliant...but using that method of calculation...how many seconds is it til you come home? :) xxx
