We went to the Special assembly day this weekend and the Assembly grounds we're beautiful, the weather was also gorgeous up until the final talk when the heavens opened so i thought it would be kind to tell you not to worry as we're not the only ones in Cornwall who have rain at assembly's, they do here to!! Its was hammering down onto the tin roofs so hard that we had a job to hear the speaker! It was a really nice program, about the conscience who'd of thought a whole day on the conscience but it really hit home its something very precious.
The Bethel speaker likened ignoring your conscience to ignoring a guard dog (an apt illustration here) he said if your guard dog barked all the time at passers by and you decided to hit it with a big stick to stop it barking what will happen when real intruders come? The guard dog will sit and watch the intruders and think go on take everything and that big stick to!!(of course everyone liked that!) He said like this guard dog if we ignore our conscience on a daily basis, then when we actually need it we will be in trouble!!
On the work front we're getting the swing of things and i'm planning to do a hole page in the right hand column over there-----> so you can keep track of our progress give us a few days to get it sorted though. Our job descriptions we're given to us this monday after the I.S .couple came back from a trip. Lester is to keep the project on track, is to check the schedule is kept to and that each rooms finished correctly. We've 30 rooms to go and so far he's doing well with keeping the team motivated but we've only been here a week and there's lots to be done. I've been asked to look after deliveries as they arrive from south Africa, to check all the stock and keep everthing organized which is hard here!!! Then when thats done back to painting. We're enjoying the work and we're settling into routine below is a little proof that we're working! Both looking forward to our first meeting at our new congregation tomorrow, Helensvale.
