The memorial

I'm sure as ours did everyone's memorial went well, Its nice to know that we're all doing the same thing on the same day! We had 206 in attendance which is over 100% more then Publishers and the majority of other congregations had similar attendance. It was a lovely day as all of Bethel were aloud half a day to go on the service, we traveled to the rural area of our territory which was brilliant a nice change, everyone there was happy to talk and it seemed a fitting start to start the day.
On the work side of things we've managed to keep on track despite time taken off this week for Min, So we're planning on finishing the three rooms as planned next week! We'll keep you posted! Thinking of you all

CHICKEN FEET ANYONE?

What i don't understand is how Lester would rather eat chickens feet for dinner rather then have his head hovered again? Anyone else find that a tad weird!? We collected our dinner last night from the kitchens and the staff had their own private supply of chickens feet and necks in chilli sauce, Lester Jumped at the chance at adding this to his fish and chips! EW! Anyway i know this will not be a surprise to most of you as he has tried them before along with the caterpillars in Zambia!
Scary food to one side for a second, Work is progressing well as you can see in the work schedule link to the right over there ---------> I've also added some more photos of work for you to have a nosy at .
The memorial season is going well here, territory is mostly covered and tracts running dry. We look forward to seeing everyone's hard work come together on Tuesday evening. Our memorial starts at 5.45 and there will be 2 others after ours. We also get the chance to have tomorrow morning off  and one last go at finishing off some not at homes and tracts. So we look forward to sharing how things turn out tomorrow. Thinking of you all! us xx

PS WHERE IS THIS PETITION PEOPLE???! Comments below still welcome for the head hoovering!!

Lesters barber experience

So what do you find one week on, on this here blog of ours? Well three Rooms, 1 double and 2 single signed off this week, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED we shall brag about it when it happens as we're sure at some point there will be reasons why it cant! So with not much more to report apart from work and min going to plan at the moment which keeps us happy, i thought i might tell you of some things that have made us chuckle.
Here at Bethel your given a hair appointment every four weeks, So after Lester has had his Hair cut the sister asks if he would like his hair washed to get rid off the loose hair before he returns to work, Lester's in a hurry so says no thanks. SO the sister says "Hold on a second" and switches on the HOOVER and with the fluffy attachment she HOOVERS Lester's Head. Lester says he was sat there in shock as the brother sat next to him asks, "Whats the problem have you never had your head hoovered before!"  This was not a one off, apparently this is part of the barber shop experience here in Zim Bethel!
OH if only i had been there with a camera as needless to say Lester is refusing to let it happen again! Who's with me do we think we need Lester to return for another head hoovering experience so i can get you a photo for you?!!! Lester Says it will take a petition with 150 signatures or he's not doing it!!! Shame huh! Anyway we hope your all well lots love us x

x Loved this photo break time in the appropriate place x

Keeping up with the locals!

Starting the memorial season many of the brothers and sisters here in Bethel are trying to Auxiliary pioneer most will be doing the 30 some 50. We cant put in a form as we Reg Pioneer back home but still we're going to try and keep up with the local zeal and aim to do 30 if we can! So this weekend the couple who gave us lifts to the meetings and ministry groups wanted a head start (where ever they go we go!) So 5.30 yes thats right 5.30 AM we we're stood by their car Saturday, as many of you know Lester is NOT a morning person so twas a big effort but well worth it!We'd started by 6 in the local shops where we easily found bleary eyed locals to happily take the magazines to read! By 7.30am we'd met the first group in a car park where around 30 ish of us met and nearly every person you saw walked by reading the magazines!
This lady happily took the magazines and demonstrated her talent, balancing tomatoes while having a kip!

Our ministry group in the hall gardens!

Our congregation here made special efforts to meet at 9 then 11.30 and 2pm we met with all of these except the 2pm as our lift with Ron and Barbara took us to meet with a couple who had recently moved back to Zimbabwe after living in London for around 12 years they now live in a small flat attached to a kingdom hall a little further away from Harare. We met with Brandon and Kate to help reach some of the rural parts of their territory, so in the 4x4 we go and we had a very special afternoon together
Rainy season still!
Priorities!

Uncle Ron and Brandon making sure all are invited!

So we Finished at 4.30 all in, but happy. We went back to Brandon and Kates for sadza and a braai  (BBQ!) I'd like to give your photos of this but we had a power cut and it rained so they're not great photos but twas nice!

So that was yesterday now for this morning! Lester was invited to give a talk at Sunridge congregation which went well the meeting starts at 8.30am so was nice to beat the heat! About half way through the meeting the Apostolic church next door starts their service, which consists of VERY loud Gospel singing the Base from their Drums and sound system fills the kingdom hall and of course the shameful miss use of Jehovahs name! So the poor brother giving the watchtower battles on and the congregation which apparently deal with this most Sundays continued as nothing was happening!! Our favorite part was when we had a power cut the local brothers have a generator and Apostolic church didn't so we had peace to carry on until the mains kicked in again!! So that brings you up to date apart from the work which is going well so far three rooms painted and one has the floor down already we aim to have all three signed off by the end of the week. So keep in touch hope your all ok. us x
Recovering this afternoon Tis hard life ey!!!
