Keeping up with the locals!

Starting the memorial season many of the brothers and sisters here in Bethel are trying to Auxiliary pioneer most will be doing the 30 some 50. We cant put in a form as we Reg Pioneer back home but still we're going to try and keep up with the local zeal and aim to do 30 if we can! So this weekend the couple who gave us lifts to the meetings and ministry groups wanted a head start (where ever they go we go!) So 5.30 yes thats right 5.30 AM we we're stood by their car Saturday, as many of you know Lester is NOT a morning person so twas a big effort but well worth it!We'd started by 6 in the local shops where we easily found bleary eyed locals to happily take the magazines to read! By 7.30am we'd met the first group in a car park where around 30 ish of us met and nearly every person you saw walked by reading the magazines!
This lady happily took the magazines and demonstrated her talent, balancing tomatoes while having a kip!

Our ministry group in the hall gardens!

Our congregation here made special efforts to meet at 9 then 11.30 and 2pm we met with all of these except the 2pm as our lift with Ron and Barbara took us to meet with a couple who had recently moved back to Zimbabwe after living in London for around 12 years they now live in a small flat attached to a kingdom hall a little further away from Harare. We met with Brandon and Kate to help reach some of the rural parts of their territory, so in the 4x4 we go and we had a very special afternoon together
Rainy season still!
Priorities!

Uncle Ron and Brandon making sure all are invited!

So we Finished at 4.30 all in, but happy. We went back to Brandon and Kates for sadza and a braai  (BBQ!) I'd like to give your photos of this but we had a power cut and it rained so they're not great photos but twas nice!

So that was yesterday now for this morning! Lester was invited to give a talk at Sunridge congregation which went well the meeting starts at 8.30am so was nice to beat the heat! About half way through the meeting the Apostolic church next door starts their service, which consists of VERY loud Gospel singing the Base from their Drums and sound system fills the kingdom hall and of course the shameful miss use of Jehovahs name! So the poor brother giving the watchtower battles on and the congregation which apparently deal with this most Sundays continued as nothing was happening!! Our favorite part was when we had a power cut the local brothers have a generator and Apostolic church didn't so we had peace to carry on until the mains kicked in again!! So that brings you up to date apart from the work which is going well so far three rooms painted and one has the floor down already we aim to have all three signed off by the end of the week. So keep in touch hope your all ok. us x
Recovering this afternoon Tis hard life ey!!!

  2. Hi guys, loving catching up on all your hard work, and not so hard work (think I might have to borrow Miranda book when you get back :-)). We actually had some sun and mild weather yesterday which was lovely but back to grey skies today, you must miss it lol! We had co visit last week which was fab, had a DVD for public talk about translation work etc which was pretty moving seeing how appreciative people are when they get literature in their mother tongue, far cry from the response we get here. Family are all doing well & send their love, keep up the good work, Sade & co.xxxxx

Well done for aiming for the 30 hours, thats fantastic. I'm sure you'll reach it! A special well done to Lester for the early start ;)
Lots are pioneering here this month as well, great to see so many out each day. Busy busy and lots of fun too!

Its our special day assembly tomorrow, looking forward to the spiritual boost we'll receive and the chance to see many familiar faces.

Shame about the 'appy clappy next door to your meeting. All flash and no substance, though.

Keep it up, guys. Our love to you both.
