Sorry its been a few weeks but we got around to a post at last! Lots to tell you about life in Zim and the exciting news for Zimbabwe and especially Harare, Last week it was announced that in 2014 Harare will be holding its First ever international assembly this will be the only one in Africa! The Brothers were so excited at the announcement the applause went on for ages and was SO loud, people even cried!! Its means that rather then holding several small district conventions in the capital city they will hold one large one which the whole of Zimbabwe are invited to and they will hire the 60,000 seater stadium, where 3000 international delegates will join the brothers. The delegates will be entertained by the local brothers and also have the opportunity to go out in the ministry in and around Harare. Imagine 3000 extra people on the ministry in our territory back home that would make an impact!!
Once the brothers had settled after this announcement they were then told they was going to be a special meal in celebration that same day the applause was off again and we were all called to be quiet otherwise we wouldn't be able to get to work!!
So After this excitement we have a little news of our own, We are almost 90% sure that we will be staying an extra month here in Zim, for several reasons really. Its so nice to have been asked and you can see by the work schedule that we're due to leave before the end of the project and to be honest they would like our help, it does seem a shame to leave a few weeks short of finishing. We will confirm for sure when all things are 100%. Also We have Been asked if we'd go on a camping Safari where we're almost defiantly going to see lions which we're both desperate to see the in wild! Many here say where we will be camping you can hear lions roaring as if they're near by (ahhhh!) So lets hope we see them but not to close! After the three nights camping we'll get to recover in a lodge at Vic falls for a few nights. Oh and we will also get a District convention here in Zim. SO this last month we're sure will zip by but in the mean time mountains of work to be done, i'll update you on that in the work bit over there>>>>>>>.
Show off!!! Keep out for crocks! |
I've posted some pictures from our much needed dose of water at the dam. Everyone decided to go as a celebration of finishing their hours for April so we had a Braai (BBQ!!!!!) and attempted water sports.
That's all the news up to date so bye for now and hope all is well with you! X US X
Yes yes that is Leah in the back ground ( not!) |
My feeble attempt at knee boarding! |
The aim of the game, GET LESTER OFF IT! BRILLIANT FUN! |
Hey guys.
ReplyDeleteThe news about the international convention sounds amazing! That is going to be such a fantastic experience for all in attendance. Reckon you might see about applying to attend?
We send 90% congratulations on staying on another month (see what I did there?). More lasting memories to be made now! The safari sounds great too, pics are a must *subtle hint*.
Its warmed up here now, back to normal with the rain and mist etc. Nice...
Our love to you, keep up the good work!

LEAH AND LESTER!!!!
ReplyDeleteSorry we haven't been in touch, lots going on here. Really lovely to here about your news and a bit freaked out about the crocks - mum told me - be careful!!
We go to Cornwall on Friday so lots to do before then. Looking forward to chilling and not running a house : ) and I think Drew is looking forward to that too!
Tobias is great - blowing raspberries, rolling over, copying noises and just generally making us laugh.
Love to you both,
Phee, Drew and Tobias XXXXX
Hey chris! sorry we've not replied in a while trying to keep up with the others being away! We'd ave to be invited to attend so we have 5 months worth of hint dropping to get in!!! Hope your all well and that Plymouth is keeping you busy!!
ReplyDeleteKeep the comments coming!!
Love from the BELLS
Hey Phee I wish i could see Tobias he'll be massive and all grown up by the time we get home!!
Don't worry to much about the crocks the locals get a $50 prize if they see any and kill them so its very unlikely they'll be any in there at all, i think i'm more likely to break something with these water sports to be honest i don't think i'm made for them, Shame!
Have a nice time at mum and dads hugs from us and enjoy the rest
Skype soon!!
